Last year, Applied Systems announced the acquisition of TechCanary, the leading insurance CRM system built on the Salesforce.com platform. The acquisition expanded Applied’s sales and marketing solutions and demonstrated the company’s commitment to automating both front and back-office workflows for every role within an insurance agency, insurer, and MGA.
And why are we so happy about the acquisition? Because Kadence had a hand in TechCanary’s product offering (you know, that “leading insurance CRM system built on the Salesforce.com platform”)!
Here’s the story of how we helped TechCanary design an intuitive Salesforce UI/UX by standardizing insurance methodologies and designing a data model that caters to the unique business processes among insurance agencies, insurers, and MGAs.
Adopting a new technology platform is a huge undertaking for any company.
The TechCanary Salesforce application focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of front offices. TechCanary knew Salesforce could help, but adoption was a hurdle.
Adopting a new technology platform is a huge undertaking for any company. One of TechCanary’s goals was to design an intuitive Salesforce UI/UX for insurance agencies, insurers, and MGAs, making it easier and more attractive to adopt the new platform. Kadence was brought on to manage various Salesforce development projects specifically to improve the UI/UX for TechCanary’s clients.
Kadence supported TechCanary business growth through the following:
- Development of TechCanary’s Health Insurance Management product, using both declarative and code, along with dynamic UX components
- Incorporated financial software into the TechCanary Salesforce package (managing claims, commissions, billing, etc.)
- Architectured several Salesforce Communities, ranging from communities for carriers and agents to consumer customers
- Integrated secure government agency APIs into the TechCanary package
- Provided professional services support for TechCanary customers – Implemented data models, automation, and integrations
“Kadence was a true partner we trusted internally and to regularly support our clients. They helped us quickly expand on our property and casualty (P&C) solution with an employee benefits product – the first in the market to combine solutions. Kadence gave us a competitive advantage, brought new customers to TechCanary, and ultimately opened doors that contributed to our acquisition.” – Chris Phillips | President & Co-Founder, TechCanary
Kadence’s strategic Salesforce support allowed TechCanary to focus on business development and growth. We absorbed some of the technical debt that comes with a rapidly growing tech company by managing feedback from TechCanary’s customers and providing updates based on feature requests. As a result, TechCanary was able to grow its business to become #1 in the industry, resulting in the Applied Systems acquisition!
